Imposter Syndrome Sample

When we think of Albert Einstein, we call to mind a genius who changed the world by greatly advancing theoretical physics. Thoughts of Maya Angelou can invoke goosebumps as we recall her revolutionary, and award-winning work. Einstein and Angelou both transformed their fields, forever changing them and leaving an undeniable mark on history. Because of this, it might strike you as odd that both of these significant figures did not feel “worthy” of their achievements. Surprisingly, it is not uncommon for high-achievers to feel like frauds, attributing their success to good luck or timing, rather than hard work, intelligence, and talent. This phenomenon is called “Imposter Syndrome” and it is far more common than you might think.

Transparency in an Evolving Industry

Mistplay recently had the pleasure of being in San Francisco during the 2018 Game Developers Conference (GDC). Throughout this exciting event, we were able to meet with existing and potential partners, while being inspired by the talent of independent developers from across the globe. Meeting with innovative individuals as well as attending many fascinating lectures inspired us to think about the future of ad tech and Mistplay’s place in it. The landscape is rapidly changing as are the demands of advertisers; this is an interesting time for us all to figure out how to stay on top in an increasingly competitive market. How Times Have Changed It doesn’t take an engineer to figure out that mobile technology is transforming at high-speeds. A quick review of some basic stats offers a powerful reminder of just how embedded mobile gaming has become in our daily lives. As Statista points out, there are currently 2.2 billion active mobile gamers worldwide and this number continues to grow every year. This has made mobile gaming a multi-billion-dollar industry with projected earnings of $52.7 billion for 2018 which are expected to rise to $65 billion by 2020 according to an article by Emma McDonald for Newzoo. The amplified cash flow in the industry means higher levels of spending on advertising and bigger UA budgets, which has made the need for transparency between advertisers and ad networks more important than ever.

The Ultimate #TrudEAUbama Bro-Date in Ottawa

It was early spring of 2016 when the sparks first flew. Amidst the well-rehearsed jokes about hockey and beer, something beautiful was happening between Canada’s Prime Minister and America’s President. The bromance of the century was blossoming, and it was taking North America, nay, the world by storm. But alas, Obama’s last official visit to Ottawa will come and go. However, judging from the way they look at each other, it’s safe to assume that these men are more than just colleagues, they are bros. Mayhap one day Obama will come back to Ottawa in an unofficial capacity. If he does, this is how they would spend their day. 1. Bro-fast @ Wilf and Ada’s To begin their brotastic tour of Ottawa, the leaders will need full bellies. They, along with the first ladies, will enjoy a delicious breakfast at Wilf and Ada’s. Here they can dine on a variety of delicious, wholesome food, made in house and from scratch. During this time, they can excitedly plan their day as Michelle and Sophie chat politely and slowly realize they have been left out of the plans. Sorry first ladies, it’s a bro date!

Jam packed with variety these are just some of the shows not to be missed during the second week of Ottawa Fringe! 1. Shakespeare Crackpot Sarcastic and cutting, Shakespeare Crackpot is a high-energy lecture, blended with the autobiography of a man who has spent his life in academia. Keir Cutler is as funny as he is intelligent while he passionately discusses his subject. Though Shakespeare purists may not agree with what Mr. Cutler has to say, everyone is sure to be entertained by how he says it.
